Tools & Resources

It’s no secret that new technology and tools help us to do things faster and more efficiently. When it comes to online tools, there are apps for everything, from accounting, to project management, to outsourcing, to training programs, just to name a few. They all claim to be “the best” which makes it hard to know which to choose!

If you’re ever felt overwhelmed by the tools and resources available online, you not sure what is right for you and you don’t want to waste your time with trial and error – then you’ve come to the right place.

The goal of this web page is to put together all the resources and tools that have been battle tested to prove their worth in our own business and in our client’s businesses.

These tools link of to third-party websites where you can sign up and test the tools out. Most of the tools are free of charge, low cost or offer a free trial of some sort to help you decide if the tool is right for you.

If you know someone who would find it useful to know about tools to help their business, please feel free to share this page with them.

Design & Graphics

Freepik

Fantastic resource for vector illustrations for free. You’ll need to have a graphic designer or be handy with a vector program like Illustrator to customise these resources.

Canva

Nothing short of amazing software, Canva puts graphic design in the hands of, well, everyone. The platform is super easy to use and for the most part it’s free. Even when it costs money it doesn’t cost much at all. You can create ebooks, infographic, social media images and much more.

Email Marketing

Mailchimp

Mailchimp is our go-to solution if you’re just starting out and want to keep you costs low. It’s free up to 2,000 subscribers and it connects with just about every other piece of software around. The key is to build your list as soon as you can, so if you’re not sure what to start with, then just start with Mailchimp.

ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign combines a CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) with email marketing and email automation. While Mailchimp is awesome and free, it can get a bit pricey once automation is involved. ActiveCampaign gives the power of automation on all of their plans, which start at less than AUD$15/month.

Project Management

Asana

Asana is “teamwork without email” and it does quite a good job at this. I like to think about Asana as a really smart piece of paper you can work on with your team. At Renegade Empire we looooove Asana. It hold our projects, tasks, documentation, reference items, processes and more. It took us a while to get our ideal workflow and we’ll still improving as we go. The flexibility is actually one of the things we love about it.

Trello

Trello uses the highly regarded Kanban technique which displays your tasks and projects in vertical columns. Trello is so flexible and help you know the status of projects and work by simply glancing at the workspace. Trello has gorgeous mobile phone apps so you can get things done on the go.

Nice, let's get started!
